Content Sharing Sites You Should Know

By My Web Writers

Beyond Twitter. Beyond Facebook. Even beyond YouTube. There are dozens of content-sharing sites you should know about that you might not have even heard of. Submit content that can be seen by anyone, anywhere in the world! Content-sharing sites give you the opportunity to reach people you might not otherwise reach on popular social media sites.

Topix – “Topix. Your town. Your news. Your take.”

Topix is exactly what it sounds like: thousands of topics to read about. What makes Topix unique is that content isn’t only posted and organized by topic, but also by location. Should you choose to read or post information that on pertains to a certain town, state, or country, you can search or post based on a particular place. While Topix started off as strictly for the professional news media, it’s branched out over the past five years and opened up forums for anyone to post and share.

Yelp – “To connect people with great local businesses.”

Another great location-based content-sharing site is Yelp. With more than 27 million reviews, site visitors can find information on lots of local businesses and events. Businesses can use the site to post photos and even message customers, which would be especially useful after a bad review to set things straight.

Fotopedia – “Breathing new life into photos by building a photo encyclopedia that lets photographers and photo enthusiasts collaborate and enrich images to be useful for the whole world wide web.”

Fotopedia gives users a chance to add photos to online encyclopedia articles. Upload photos you’ve taken, or even suggest photos from somewhere else, to be placed with certain topics and places. People then vote on the top photos and eventually, the highest voted photos are placed with the article.

SlideShare – “The World’s Largest Community for Sharing Presentations.”

This is the place for presentations on virtually any topic imaginable. Upload nearly any type of document – PDFs, videos and webinars. SlideShare is especially useful for educators and students, and makes sharing easy on other websites like Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

MakeUseOf – “A booming daily blog that features cool websites, computer tips and downloads that make you more productive.”

MakeUseOf is loaded with content from websites you’ve never heard of. It’s kind of like a site filled with the internet’s “best kept secrets.” It’s got lots of “How to” articles and even a section called, “Geeky Fun.”

Quora – “Connects you to everything you want to know about.”

Quora advertises itself as the easiest place to write new content and share content from the web. Simply create a homepage of your favorite topics, people, and questions, and Quora will send you the content most relevant.

Content is king, and each day it seems a new site pops up that is made just for sharing content. Remember that if you don’t have the time to write good content, an article writing service is worth the investment.
